Scholarship & Bursary Awards
The purpose of these scholarships is to provide financial assistance to First Nations students pursuing post-secondary education at an accredited Canadian educational institution. Students must be graduating from grade 12 or hold a high school diploma, and registered at a post-secondary institution.
The Awards will be as follows
Type I Scholarship - For study in a college or university in mathematics or sciences
Type II Scholarship - For study at a college or university in mathematics, sciences or humanities
Bursary - For study at a college, university, or trade school
Eligible students are those who meet the following criteria:
- are graduating from grade 12
- are registered in a full-time program at a post-secondary institution in Canada
- have an average of C+ or higher
- are of First Nations ancestry
Completed applications must be accompanied by a 300-word essay describing why you feel you are a worthy candidate. A letter of recommendation by the student's high school principal, counselor, or a teacher also required.
Scholarships will be awarded based on merit accordingly in the following order:
- the highest average
- the most persuasive essay
- the most compelling letter of recommendation
The deadline for submitting scholarships is June 1
