Scholarship Awards for Deserving Students
The purpose of these scholarships is to provide financial assistance to First Nations and American Indian students pursuing post-secondary education in Canada or the U.S. The awards range from $250-$1000.
To be eligible, applicants must:
- be graduating from grade 12, have high school equivalency, or admitted as a mature student
- be registered in a full-time program at an accredited post-secondary institution in Canada or the US
- have an average of C+ or higher
- be of First Nations or American Indian ancestry
Completed applications must be accompanied by:
- A letter of recommendation by the student's high school principal, counsellor, or a teacher
- a 300-word essay describing why you feel you are a worthy candidate. also required
- a recent photograph (preferably a graduation photo)
The deadline for submitting scholarships is September 30 of the current year.
